연구 내용
구조적 및 기능적 뇌영상을 이용하여 파킨슨병에서 보이는 다양한 운동 및 비운동 증상들의 기전을 밝히고 바이오마커를 개발하는 연구를 하고자 합니다. 구조적 뇌영상으로는 뇌 MRI에서 T1 이미지를 이용하여서 뇌 피질 두께나 뇌 부피를 측정하고, 확산텐서영상(diffusion tensor image)을 이용하여서 fraction anisotropy, mean diffusivity, free water, ALPS 등을 측정합니다. 기능적 뇌영상으로는 뇌 MRI에서 fMRI 이미지를 이용하여서 뇌의 기능적 연결성을 측정하고, 18F-FP-CIT PET 이미지를 이용하여서 선조체 도파민 결핍 정도를 측정하며, 18F-FDG PET 이미지를 이용하여서 뇌 대사 변화를 측정합니다. 이들 영상을 분석하고 정량화하여 운동 및 비운동 증상들과의 복잡한 상관관계를 다양한 통계 모델을 이용하여 규명할 예정입니다. 이를 통하여, 파킨슨병에서 보이는 강직, 서동증, 떨림, 보행장애 등 운동 증상과, 인지 저하, 후각저하, 수면장애, 정신증상 등 비운동증상의 벙태생리를 뇌 영상을 통해 규명하고자 합니다.

학생들이 참여하면 좋을 연구
  • MRI 및 PET 정량분석 결과와 파킨슨병 및 기타 퇴행성뇌질환에서 보이는 임상양상과의 연관성 분석을 통하여서 증상의 병태생리를 밝히거나 병을 감별 또는 진행을 예측할 수 있는 바이오마커를 개발하는 연구를 함께 진행할 수 있으면 좋겠습니다. 가설을 세우로 적절한 분석 모델을 설정하고 직접 통계분석을 시행하며 논문을 작성하는 과정을 배울 수 있겠습니다.
