- 내이 발생학 (Cochlear Development) - 단순한 형태의 Otocyst가 복잡한 나선형 구조인 달팽이관으로 성숙하는 과정은 정교한 유전자 조절을 필요로 합니다. 본 연구실은 NGS 및 RNA 분석 기술을 활용하여 달팽이관의 발달 네트워크를 해독합니다.
- 주파수 감지 특성 및 정렬 (Tonotopic Organization) - 달팽이관은 기저부(Base)에서 고주파를, 첨부(Apex)에서 저주파를 감지하는 정교한 공간적-주파수 맵을 가집니다. 본 연구실은 달팽이관 형성 과정에서 이러한 주파수 정렬이 확립되는 분자적 기전을 추적합니다.
- 부동모 구조 및 아키텍처 (Stereociliary Architecture) - 청각 유모세포 상단의 부동모(Stereocilia)는 소리 진동을 전기 신호로 바꾸는 핵심 구조물입니다. 우리는 부동모 사이의 결합 구조와 정밀한 계단식 배열이 형성되는 원리를 연구하여, 구조적 결함에 의한 난청 치료 표적을 발굴합니다.
- 청각 장애 및 치료 (Hearing Loss & Therapeutics) - 청각은 단순한 감각을 넘어 소통과 정서적 안녕을 지탱하는 필수 기능입니다. 본 연구실은 노화, 소음, 유전 및 이독성 약물에 의한 난청의 근본적인 병리 기전을 연구하며, 이를 제어하기 위한 혁신적인 치료 전략을 수립합니다.
