Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the perceptions of patient safety pharmacy education account of
educator perspectives in order to provide basic materials for the development of patient safety education in pharmacy
curriculum. For our research purpose, Key Informants Interview (KII) and Focus Group Interview (FGI) with one professor
in college of pharmacy and five pharmacists who have experienced educating pharmacy undergraduate students were
conducted and analyzed. KII and FGI analysis results were classified into three categories and ten subcategories. Our
findings could suggest that we should develop practical educational contents and it should be closely linked with clinical
practice in pharmacy students. Furthermore, securing faculty members with clinical experience and developing effective
teaching method are important in order to successfully introduce patient safety in pharmacy curriculum. Based on the
findings of this study, recommendations for implications and future research are given for the introduction of patient safety
curriculum.
