Purpose: The aim of this case report is to describe block bone graft from mandibular symphysis using Piezosurgery¢A and implant installation procedure.
Materials and Methods: A 19 year old male patient walked in with complaint of missing tooth on #31, 41 due to congenital missing. Block bone was grafted from mandibular symphysis and fixed with screws. After 4 months, implant was installed(Replace NP ⓒ™3.5x13mm). The patient requested early restoration and the final restoration was delivered 6 weeks after implant 1st surgery.
Results: Relatively enough bone was acquired using block bone even though there was considerable bone loss in vertical dimension. Bone quality was good enough to place implant fixture. Slight gingival recession took place during soft tissue healing period after 1st surgery, and the patient agreed re-visit for final restoration check up.
Conclusion: Block bone graft from symphysis using Piezosurgery¢A can be used as a predictable procedure for ridge augmentation when certain precautions are observed
