Twenty-five Korean adult acetabula were cut through the center of the acetabulum at 8 points which were located along the acetabular labrum with even distance. So we could report a morphological study for 175 cross sectional surfaces from 25 acetabular labrums. Triangular shape were observed in 87%, polygonal shape in 12% and thin band(<2mm) shape in 1%. We studied also the pattern how the under surface of the labrum is attached to the bone of the acetabular margin. The labrum sit on the flat bony surface was the most common pattern which was observed in 83% of the surfaces. In 12% of the surfaces, there were the arrow like pattern in which the labrum was sit on the sharp or elevated bony surface. There were slit like recess under the labrum in 36% of 25 labrum which were observed in 24% in inferior part and in 12% in posteroinferior part. In this study, we observed the different shape, size and attaching pattern of the acetabular labrum which could be considered in intepretation of MRI and in performing of hip arthroscopy.
