Most recently, a novel surface treatment of implant fixture has been introduced - a chemically modified sand-blasted, large grit, acid-etched titanium surface - to enhance bone apposition. This is a case of immediately placed modified SLA surface implant and conventional SLA surface implant in maxillary molar area. The aim of this case report is to evaluate whether hydrophilic properties of novel implant surfaces have higher potential to support osseointegration in type IV bone.
