Abstract
The aim of this article is to examine the characteristics of genomic medicine considering international public goods. Authors suppose that genomic medicine shows international public goods as essential characteristics. Therefore, in this article, firstly we explain the characteristics of intellectual goods and intellectual public goods in the field of international health. Secondly, we summarize a debate on international genomic database as international public goods. Finally this paper analyzes characteristics of genomic medicine in the perspective of international public goods with four steps: research infrastructure, research and development, service delivery, international public health crisis.
