Abstract

본 논문은 국내 및 해외 당뇨 관리 의료기기 시장의 현황과 기술 발전 동향을 심층적으로 분석하여 학문적, 산업적 시사점을 제시하고 국내 당뇨 관리 의료기기 산업의 활성화 방안을 제시하는 데 목적을 두었다. 당뇨병은 전 세계적으로 빠르게 증가하는 만성 질환으로, 심혈관 질환, 신장 질환 등 다양한 합병증을 유발하며 환자의 삶의 질을 저하시키고 의료비 부담을 가중시키는 주요 문제로 대두되고 있다. 이에 따라 연속혈당측정기(CGM), 웨어러블 인슐린 펌프, AI 기반 혈당 관리 플랫폼 등 디지털 헬스케어 기술이 당뇨 관리의 효율성을 높이는 혁신적인 솔루션으로 주목받고 있다. 주요 의료기기 품목별로 국내 및 해외 시장 규모와 성장률, 주요 업체들의 경쟁력 및 기술 동향을 분석하였다. 특히, CGM 과 인슐린 펌프는 실시간 혈당 모니터링과 자동 인슐린 투여를 통해 환자의 혈당 관리를 효과적으로 지원하는 핵심 기술로 평가되며, AI 기반 혈당 관리 시스템과 디지털 치료제(DTx)는 개인 맞춤형 혈당 관리와 합병증 예방에 기여할 것으로 전망된다. 국내 시장에서도 국내 의료기기업체들이 자가혈당측정기(BGM)와 CGM 분야에서 활발히 활동 중이며, 식품의약품안전처의 의료기기법 개정과 같은 규제 환경 변화에 대응하며 웨어러블 인슐린 펌프와 AI 기반 플랫폼 등 혁신적인 기술로 주목받고 있다. 이러한 기술들은 환자 중심의 디지털 헬스케어 생태계를 강화하며 글로벌 경쟁력을 확보하는 데 기여할 것으로 보인다. 당뇨 관리 의료기기의 기술 발전이 시장 경쟁 구도와 환자 치료 결과에 미치는 영향을 심층적으로 평가하고, 정부 정책 및 보험 급여 확대를 통한 시장 활성화 방안을 제시하였다. 또한, AI 기반 혈당 관리 시스템과 디지털 헬스케어 기술이 환자 삶의 질 개선에 기여할 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 한다.

This study aims to provide academic and industrial implications by conducting an in-depth analysis of the current status and technological development trends of the domestic and international diabetes management medical device markets, and to propose strategies for revitalizing the domestic diabetes management medical device industry. Diabetes is a rapidly increasing chronic disease worldwide, causing various complications such as cardiovascular and kidney diseases, which deteriorate patients' quality of life and increase healthcare costs. Therefore, digital healthcare technologies, including continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), wearable insulin pumps, and AI-based blood glucose management platforms, are gaining attention as innovative solutions to enhance diabetes management efficiency. This study analyzed the market size, growth rate, and competitiveness of major medical device items in both domestic and international markets. CGM and insulin pumps are core technologies that effectively support blood glucose management through real-time monitoring and automated insulin delivery. AI-based blood glucose management systems and digital therapeutics (DTx) are expected to contribute to personalized blood glucose management and prevention of complications. In the domestic market, local medical device companies are actively involved in the BGM and CGM sectors. They are responding to regulatory changes, such as amendments to the Medical Device Act by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and are gaining attention with innovative technologies like wearable insulin pumps and AI-based platforms. These technologies are expected to strengthen patient centered digital healthcare ecosystems and secure global competitiveness. This study evaluated the impact of technological advancements in diabetes management medical devices on market competition and patient treatment outcomes. It proposed strategies to revitalize the market through government policies and expanded insurance coverage. Additionally, it explored ways in which AI-based blood glucose management systems and digital healthcare technologies can improve patients' quality of life.
