고려후기 민간의료의 활성과 그 전개과정 - 『향약구급방』의 분석을 중심으로 -

Abstract

In this article, the development process of private sector medical care in the late Goryeo and early Joseon periods was examined by dividing it into indigenous drugs, drug distribution, private sector medical personnel, and Hyangyak(鄕藥) medical books. From the perspective of medical history, very interesting phenomena appeared all at once in the late Goryeo Dynasty. During this period, indigenous drugs increased rapidly, and the drug distribution network expanded to various ranges. At the same time, as the number of private sector medical personnel increased, Hyangyak medical books were also issued one after another. So, the common people emerged as medical consumers and also increased their purchasing power for drugs. This was the process of expanding medical care in the private sector and the growth process of Hyangyak(鄕藥). And reflecting the growth of the common people, the Joseon government legally guaranteed the medical rights of the people. In addition, the Joseon government accepted the achievements of private sector medical care in the late Goryeo period by actively expanding indigenous drugs, establishing a nationwide tribute system, and compiling official medical books.
