dc.description.abstractPurpose: This purpose of this study is to investigate obesity management program of Republic of Korea armed forces and compare it to that of the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. in order to derive improvements of the current program. Methods: Through a comparative legal and institutional analysis, this research examines existing obesity management programs in the selected countries, assessing their effectiveness and applicability to the Korean military environment. The study relies on a review of previous research, policy documents, and obesity management outcomes. Results: The comparative analysis revealed that Korea's military obesity management system differs significantly from those of the three countries. The advantages over the Korean program were legal and institutional basis for running the program, health promotion centers with obesity management programs, designated personnel for obesity management, and an evaluation system. Conclusion: Based on the comparative analysis of obesity management systems in three countries, building legal foundation, understanding the current situation, transparent disclosure of health behavior survey results should be recommended to improve the Korean Army's combat readiness in the health aspect.-
