Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the design of a structured leadership education program in the future by analyzing the overall characteristics of the program through systematic literature review of leadership education programs conducted on nursing students. Methods: The researchers searched using the PubMed, EMBASE, CINAHL, Cochrane central, and RISS. Ten studies were selected for analysis. Results: 4 of the 10 literature studies were pre-post, no control group and quasi-experimental. Leadership education was mainly conducted on fourth grade nursing students. The main training methods used were discussion, and leadership skills and communication skills were measured as major learning outcomes. Conclusion: Leadership training programs have been identified as a way to effectively improve leadership skills, communication skills, management skill, and clinical knowledge, and to educate key capabilities that future nursing leaders should have.
