urethrorectal fistula ; urethral diverticulum ; AIDS
Abstract
A 41-year-old heterosexual African man with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) was evaluated for a urine leakage from anus, pneumaturia and watery diarrhea. Radiographic and endoscopic procedures established the diagnosis of a urethrorectal fistula. The differential diagnosis of an acquired urethrorectal fistula and the significance of AIDS are discussed.
