Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of family planning workers in Seoul. The sample surveyed 155 of the 270 family planning field workers in Seoul. Demographic characteristics of these workers were compared with their performance using the multiple regression technique of analysis and findings are follows:
1. Variables related to field worker achievement in the extension of I.U.D. services accounted for 36% of all extension success and included 1) the age experience and educational levels of the workers 2) the proximity of their work location to the acceptor population and 3) the feasibility of administrative targets assigned for I.U.D. services extension (R=0.601).
2. Significant variables (48.7%) accounting for achievement in the distribution of oral pills were 1) the feasibility of administrative targets, 2) the experience of field workers, 3) the number of eligible women and 4) the proximity of the service facility to the acceptor population.
3. Factors contributing to condom distribution included 1) the feasibility of administrative targets and 2) the age and educational levels of the field workers.
These variables accounted for 14.4% of condom distribution success (R=0.379).
