본 연구의 목적은 간호원의 소진경험정도, 요인 및 업무만족도의 요인을 밝히고 간호원

의 소진경험정도와 업무만족도간에는 어떤 상관이 있는지를 알아보는 것으로 가설은 "간

호원의 소진경험정도와 업무만족도간에는 역상관 관계가 있을 것이다 "로 설정되었다.

연구대상은 서울 시내에 소재한 3개의 종합병원과 지방의 2개 종합병원에서 근무하는

간호원 중 산과병동, 분만실, 신생아실, 외래 진찰실을 제외한 일반병동의 간호원 456명

이었으며, 1983년 4월 14일부터 동년 5월 12일에 걸쳐 자료를 수집하였다.

연구도구로는 Slavitt 등이 개발한 건강요원을 위한 업무만족 측정도구와 Pines등이 저

술한 책 "Burnout"에서 얻은 소진(Burnout)경험 측정도구를 기초로 본 연구자가 작성한

질문지를 사전조사하여 문항분석한 후(신뢰도 .76, .86) 사용하였으며 이 질문지를 배부

하여 대상자가 직접 기입하게 하였다.

수집된 자료는 백분율, 변량분석, 피어슨 상관관계 분석법의 통계방법으로 분석 처리하

였다.

본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.

1. "간호원의 소진경험정도와 업무만족도간에는 역상관 관계가 있을 것이다"는 r = - .

39676, P <.001로 채택되었다.

2. 대상자의 업무만족도는 평균 2.917점, 소진경험정도는 평균 2.676점으로 업무만족도

와 소진경험정도의 평균점수간에는 커다란 차이를 나타내고 있지 않다.

3. 대상자의 일반적 특성과 업무만족도, 소진경험정도와의 관계에서는 연령, 결혼상태,

학력, 간호원 경력, 근무병동, 현병동에서의 근무경력, 직위, 간호직에 종사할 예정기간

, 간호직을 택한 동기가 업무만족도와 소진경험정도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 업무만족

도가 낮으면 소진경험정도가 높은 것으로 나타났으며 근무병동의 경우 수술실 간호원의

업무만족도가 가장 낮고 내과가 그 다음 순위인 반면 소진경험정도에서는 내과 간호원이

가장 높고 외과, 수술실 순으로 나타났다(P<.001).

결론적으로 간호원의 소진경험정도가 높을수록 업무만족도는 낮은 것으로 나타났다.





A Study of the Correlation Between Burnout and Job Satisfaction Levels Among Nurses

This study was designed to determine the correlation between burnout and job

satisfaction among nurses and to identify the levels and related factors that

influence burnout and job satisfaction. It was hypothesized that the burnout level

of nurses is negatively related to their job satisfaction. The sample consisted of

456 nurses who were working at 3 general hospitals in Seoul and 2 general hospitals

in another city. The nurses were surveyed by means of a questionnaire during April

14 through May 12, 1983.

The burnout scale from Burnout by Pines, et al and the work satisfaction scale

developed by Slavitt, et al were used as the basis for the questionnaires prepared

. The Alpha score from item analysis was 0.856 for the Burnout Scale and 0.764 for

the job Satisfaction Scale. Analysis of data was done by use of the Mean, ANOVA,

and Pearson Correlation Coefficient.

The results of the study can be summarized as follows:

1. Using the Pearson Correlation Coefficient to the hypothesis, 'The burnout

level of nurses is negatively related to their job satisfaction,"the hypothesis was

accepted. (r=-0.39676, p<.001)

2. The Mean scores for burnout and job satisfaction were 2.676 and 2 917,

respectively, based on a maximum score of 5.00. This indicates neither burnout nor

job satisfaction levels were significantly high among the nurses surveyed. However,

even at this burnout level, Pines suggested that such individuals review their

life, job and goals and reevaluate priorities and make possible changes.

3. An analysis of the relationship of nurses 'burnout levels to general

characteristics of nurses showed statistically significant differences in burnout

levels for: age (p<.001), marital status (p<.001), educational level (p<.001),

amount of nursing experience (p<.001), working department (p<.01), period of

nursing experience in present working department(p<.05), position (p<.001),

expected working period as a nurse(p<.001), and reason for selecting nursing as a

profession(p<.001).

4. An analysis of the relationship of nurses' job satisfaction levels with

general characteristics of nurses showed statistically significant differences in

job satisfaction levels for: age (P<.001), marital status (p<.001), educational

level (p<.0.001), amount of nursing experience (p<001), working department (p<.001)

period of nursing experience in persent working department (p<.001), position

(p<.001), expected working period as a nurse (p<.001), and reason for selecting

nursing as a profession (p<.05).
