지체장애자의재활에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 분석

최근에 치료의학과 예방의학의 발달은 급성질환으로 인한 사망률은 낮추게 되었으나 만

성병, 산업재해, 교통사고로 인한 장애자수의 증가를 가져오게 되었다. 따라서 장애자들

에 대한 관심이 높아가고 있고 장애 후 사회에 재적응하며 장애자 스스로의 기능적인 자

립을 이루게 하기 위하여 장애자 재활의 문제가 중요하게 대두되고 있다.

이 연구에서는 지체장애자의 재활에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대하여 분석하고자 3개소의

지체장애자 단체 및 복지시설에 등록되어 있는 20세 이상의 지체장애자 118명을 대상으로

1988년 10월 17일부터 10월 26일까지 면접조사를 실시하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다.

1. 지체장애자의 재활에 영향을 미치는 심리적인 변수로서 욕구에 관한 변수는 신체적

인 욕구, 사회적 문제해결의 욕구, 사회활동욕구, 교육적 욕구 등 4개의 공통인자로 추출

되었다. 이 중에서 신체적인 욕구정도가 가장 높았다.

2. 지체장애자의 재활정도를 보여주는 기능생활점수는 연령, 종교 유무, 직업 유무에

따라서 통계학적으로 유의한 차이가 있었고, 기타 변수들과는 차이가 없었다.

3. 가족기능도, 장애정도에 따라서 기능생활점수의 차이가 있었다.

4. 지체장애자의 재활에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 연령, 장애정도, 가족기능도가 통계

학적으로 유의한 변수로 선정되었다. 다변수 회귀분석에 사용된 모든 변수들로 재활정도

의 변화를 59.5% 예측할 수 있었고, 각 변수들의 예측률은 연령이 40.9%, 장애정도가 9.8

%, 가족기능도가 4.7%이었다.

이상과 같이 지체장애자의 재활에 영향을 미치는 요인은 연령, 장애정도, 가족기능도이

었다. 연령이나 장애정도는 조절이 불가능한 요소이나 가족기능도는 재활팀이 지원할 수

있는 요소이다. 따라서 지체장애자를 위한 재활 프로그램에서 이러한 요소들을 효율적으

로 관리하면 장애자 재활에 도움이 되리라 생각한다. 이 연구에서 고려하지 못하였던 다

양한 외적인 요인을 포함한 재활에 관한 연구가 요망된다.

An Analysis of Factors Affecting Rehabilitation of Physically Disabled Person

The purpose of this study is to analyse the factors affecting rehabilitation of

physically disabled persons. Data were collected from 118 physically disabled

persons who were registered at facilities for disabled persons by an interview

survey conducted from October 17 to October 26, 1988. The three facilities for the

survey were selected by stratified random sampling. The results were as follows:

1. Using factor analysis, 10 variables were grouped into 4 factors: physical

need, need for social problem-solving, need for social interaction and educational

need. The proportion of variance explained by these factors was 58.3%.

2. Age, religion and job were significantly related to the fuctional life scale

score, but other variables were not.

3. Family APGAR score and severity of disability were significantly related to

the functional life scale score.

4. From the multiple regression analysis on rehabilitation of the physically

disabled person, the following three variables were statistically significant: age,

severity of disability and family functioning.

These result suggest that age, severity of disability and family fuctioning

variables are important factors for rehabilitation of physically disabled persons.

Since the family functioning variable can be controlled by care, rehabilitation

team should monitor the variable closely to improve the efficiency of

rehabilitation.

Because of their implication for further study, some variables, other than those

considered here, are needed for studying rehabilitation of physically disabled

persons.
