교합력과 안모유형의 관계는 지금까지 과학적인 견지에서 확실히 알려지지 않고 있으나

여러 학자에 의해서 그의 상관성을 추정하고 있다. 근래에는 최대교합력과 안모유형에

관한 보고가 있었으나 교합력과 안모유형의 관계를 보고한 경우는 드물었다.(biting forc

e는 최대교합력, 저작력, 연하력을 포함한다.)

이에 이 연구는 첫째, long face와 normal face에 있어서 교합력과의 관계 둘째, 개구

정도의 차이와 교합력과의 관계 셋째, 남녀 차이에 의한 교합력과의 관계를 알아보고자

하였다.

교합력은 56명(normal 26명 long 30명)의 성인으로부터 측정되었는데 연세대학교 학생

과 환자에서 선택되었다. 대상은 lateral cephalogram에 의해 long과 normal의 두 그룹으

로 나뉘어졌다.

이 연구의 결과는 아래와 같다.

1. long face에서의 maximum biting force와 chewing force는 normal face에서 보다 작

게 나타났다.

2. 6mm에서 9mm 두께의 transducer로 두께가 변화했을 경우에 maximum biting force와

chewing force가 크게 나타났다.

3. 남과 여의 비교에서는 남자가 normal face와 long face 모두에서 maximum biting fo

rce와 chewing force 가 크게 나타났다.





A STUDY OF BITING FORCE IN L0NG FACE AND NORMAL FACE ADULTS

Until now it has not surely been pointed out about the relation between the

biting force and the facial types in scientific view.

But it's correlation was assumed by several scientists: recently some literatures

reported about the maximum biting force and facial types, but there's only a little

articles about the relation between the biting force(biting force contain maximum

biting force, chewing force and swallowing force) and facial type.

So this study was, firstly, performed to establish the relation of the nomal face

and long face versus biting force.

Secondly it was performed to establish the relation between the difference in

mouth opening degrees versus biting force.

Thirdly it was performed to establish the relation between male and female versus

biting force.

Biting force was measured from 56 adults (normal 26, long 30) whose samples was

serected from Yonsei university students and Hospital patients.

Subjects was divided into 2groups (normal and long) by lateral cephalogram.

The results of this study was obtained as follows:

1. Maximum biting force and chewing force in long face was smaller than normal

face.

2. When the thickness of transducer was changed from 6mm to 9mm, maximum biting

force and chewing force of 9mm thickness was larger than that of 6mm thickness.

3. In case of comparing with male and female, male was larger than female in

maximum biting force and chewing force.
