저자는 치은열구내 치아표면의 치태형성을 시간경과에 따른 변화를 주사전자현미경으로

조사하기 위해서 성견 6마리를 사용하며 실험전 일주일동안 매일 치석제거 및 치면세마

를 시행한후 실험시작과 함께 구강위생술식을 중단하고 각 0, 1, 3, 7, 14, 18일후에 희

생시켜서 주사전자현미경으로 관찰한바, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.

1. 치태의 주성분이 세균이라는 사실이 재확인 되었다.

2. 치아면의 pellicle의 형성은 수시간 경과후 확연히 관찰되었다.

3. 1일째의 표본에서 이미 세균출현이 있었으며 pellicle에 세균이 단층으로 부착되는

양상을 띠며, 세균은 주로 구형균과 간상균으로 구성되었다.

4. 3일째 표본에서 구형균과 간상균이 여러층으로 pellicle에 부착되었으며 휠라멘트도

나타나기 시작했다.

5. 7일째 표본에서 휠라멘트는 단층및 여러층으로 나타났으며 휠라멘트 주위에 구형균

들이 붙어서 corn-cob 형태를 이룬것도 관찰되었다.

6. 14일째 표본에서 나선균의 군락이 처음 나타나기 시작했으며 시간이 지남에따라 치

태세균의 수가 많아지고 복잡성을 나타냈다.

7. 석회화는 7일째 표본에서 처음으로 관찰할수 있었으며 28일째 표본에서 거의 석회화

가 된 상태가 발견되었다.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the morphologic features of

the dental plaque by scanning electron microscope with time. Experiment was

performed using 6 adult dogs.

A week before experiment, author scaled and polished the teeth of subjects, and

made the gingival health established through a week daily tooth brushing. Oral

hygiene was withdrawn with the initiation of experiment.

After experiment of 0, 1, 3, 7, 14, 28 days, each subject was sacrificed. Each

specimen was prepared for scanning electron microscopic observation.

Results were as follows:

1. It was re-identified that major component of the dental plaque was

microorganism.

2. At the first, pellicle was initially formed on the tooth surface on 0 day

sample, in several hours after experiment.

3. A monolayer of microorganism adhered to pellicle was appeared. A maior

composition of microorganisms was cocci and rod shape on the 1st day sample.

4. Multilayer of cocci and rod shape was observed, filaments came into sight on

the 3rd day sample.

5. Mono or multilayer of filaments was visible.

The "Corn-cob" formation in which cocci adhered to filaments was very spectacular

on the 7th day sample.

6. The aggregation of spirochetes became to be seen.

With time, higher numbers and complexities of plaque bacteria were observed on

the 14th day sample.

7. Calcification of the plaque initiated on the 7th day, and formed completely on

the 28th day sample.

The present study was focused on -the dominant microorganisms to be seen at

different phases of dental plaque formation.
