저자는 Progesterone이 치은에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 가를 알아보기 위하여 암컷백서를

이용하여 다음과 같은 실험을 하였다.

우선 위약과 정상사료를 투여한 대조군 A와 위약과 고당사료를 투여한 실험군 B, Proge

sterone과 정상사료를 투여한 실험군 C, Progesterone과 고당사료를 투여한 실험군 D, 4

군으로 나누어서 위약과 Progesterone을 매일 1회씩 1마리당 5mg/ml씩 근육주사 하였다.

1주, 2주, 3주의 실험결과 백서 구강열구상피의 조직학적 변화를 전자현미경으로 관찰

하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.

1. 세포간 간격은 Group B, Group C, 공히 시간이 가면서 점점 넓어졌으며, Group D는

3주째 상당히 넓어져서 거의 세포 넓이만큼 되었다.

2. 교소체의 수는 Group B, Group C, 공히 시간이 갈수록 점점 줄어들었고, Group D의

경우 가장 많이 줄어들었다.

3. 다형핵 백혈구는 Group B, Group C에 약간 존재하지만 Group D에서는 현저히 증가했

다.

4. 기저층은 Group B와 Group C에 비해 Group D에서 보다 더한 불연속의 양상을 보였다

ELECTRON MICROSCOPIC STUDY OF THE GINGIVAL SULCULAREPITHELIUM IN THE WHITE RATS

TREATED WITH PROGESTERONE

The purpose of this study was to observe the electrom microscopic change of the

gingival sulcular epithelium treated with progesterone.

Thirty six nonpregnant female white rats were used for this study and the white

rats were divided into 4 groups ((1) control group (2) high sucrose diet group (3)

progesterone group(4) progesterone high sucrose diet group) for periods of 1, 2,

and 3 weeks.

At the end of each experimental week, the white rats were sacrificed and the

molar teeth with surrounding soft and hard tissue were removed and prefixed with 3%

Glutaraldehyde in phosphate buffer solution for 24 hours.

The tissue and teeth were decalcified with 0.125 M EDTA for 1 week and post fixed

in 1% Qsimium Tetroxide. After dehydration with graded ethanol series, they were

embedded in Epon.

They were sectioned 500 Å in thickness by means of ultramicrotome, doubly

stained with Uranyl Acetate and Lead Citrate and examined with Hitachi Hu- 500

electronmicroscope.

The results were as follows;

1. In the Group B and the Group C, intercellular space was widened gradually, and

in the Group D, it was widened as much as the diameter of the cell.

2. Number of the desmosome in the Group B, Group C was decreased gradually, the

most decrease was happened in the Group D.

3. PMNL in the Group B, Group C is existed a few, but in the Group D, it was

increased markedly.

4. The discontinuity in the basal lamina was appeared much more in the Group D

than other groups.
