부모양육태도와 학교생활적응이 일반 청소년 자살생각에 미치는 영향

본 연구의 목적은 청소년 자살생각과 청소년이 지각한 부모양육태도, 학교생활적응간의 관계를 규명하는데 있다. 제주지역에 소재하고 있는 2개 고등학교 남녀 학생들을 대상으로 자가 보고식 설문지를 사용하였다. 최종 연구대상은 남학생 600명, 여학생 273명이 포함되었다. 자살생각을 측정하는 도구로 ‘Scale for Suicide Ideation(SSI)’, 자녀가 지각한 부모양육태도의 측정도구로 ‘Parent Bonding Instrument(PBI)’, 학교생활적응의 측정도구로는 ‘학교생활 검사지’를 사용하였다. 연구 결과 여학생이 남학생보다 더 많은 자살생각을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 흡연군과 음주군이 비흡연군과 비음주군에 비하여 자살생각이 유의하게 많은 것으로 나타났다. 여러 다양한 요인들을 변인으로 한 단계적 회귀분석 결과를 보면 자살생각은 성별, 흡연유무, 음주유무, 부모양육태도와 학교생활적응의 하위 변인들 중 일부와 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 부모양육태도 하위 요인 중 돌봄부와 과보호모, 학교생활적응 하위 요인 중 교사관계가 자살생각과 의미 있는 관계를 보였다. 청소년의 자살생각은 단일 요인에 의해 발생하기보다는 여러 요인들의 복합적인 과정을 통해 일어 남을 알 수 있고, 따라서 다각적 접근을 해야 함을 알 수 있다. 본 연구 결과에 근거하여 자살 예방 프로그램을 작성하여 청소년들에게 적용한 뒤 그 효과를 측정해 볼 필요가 있다. 이러한 예방 프로그램은 교과과정에 근거한 특별 교육 프로그램을 비롯하여, 청소년을 대상으로 하는 것 이외에도, 가족 유대감의 향상, 부모 교육, 지역사회의 지지망을 구축시키는 프로그램을 포함해야 한다. 또한 교사를 대상으로 한 교육도 중요하겠다.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the parent’s raising attitude and the school adjustment on the adolescent suicide ideation. The subjects were 873(600 boys and 273 girls) students in two Cheju high schools. The self-reported questionnaire used for this study; the Scale for Suicide Ideation(SSI), the Parent Bonding Instrument(PBI), and the School-related Adjustment Scale. Girls significantly more reported having had suicide ideation than boys. Furthermore, suicide ideation was associated with cigarette smoking and alcohol drinking. After gradational regression analysis to understand the causal relationship among variables, we found that female gender, cigarette smoking, alcohol drinking, caring father, overprotecting mother and relationship with teacher were significantly associated with adolescent suicide ideation. Prevention efforts should focus on better understanding the relationship between these outcomes. Development and implementation of a timely public health response, including curriculum, social supporting program, family intervention and education of the school teacher, might prevent further suicide behaviors.
