Abstract
[영문] The purpose of this study was to measure air force officers and NCOs''(Non Commissioned Officers) healthy weight control behavior and to identify factors affecting the behavior, and ultimately to provide basic materials for developing health promotion programs that can improve the healthy weight rate among air force officers and NCOs .Data were collected from air force officers and NCOs at an Air Force base through a self-reporting questionnaire survey during the period from the 24th to 31st of October, 2007. A total of 293 questionnaires were analyzed by SPSS/PC-11.0 using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, pearson''s correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are summarized as follows.1. When the score of healthy weight control behavior was measured on a 5-point scale, the behavior of the highest score was fat diet (3.86) and, next, in order of dietary habit (3.68), drinking (3.10) and exercise (2.45). In the results of comparison with healthy weight control behavior and body mass index (BMI), no significant difference was observed in the score of healthy weight control behavior between the healthy weight group (90.95) and the overweight group (90.63), but a statistically significant difference was observed from the obese group (85.10).2. When the correlations between healthy weight control behavior and major variables were analyzed, a positive correlation was observed with subjective health state, self-efficacy, social support, and available resource-time. On other hand, the relationships of healthy weight control behavior were negative to daily life stress, job stress, the burden of physical strength measurement, and the frequency of early attendance.3. When 15 factors related to air force officers and NCOs'' healthy weight control behavior were categorized into personal characteristics, occupational characteristics, personal predisposing factors, interpersonal reinforcing factors, environmental enabling factors and hierarchical multiple regression analysis was conducted, these factors explained 41.9% of healthy weight control behavior. The results of this study showed that air force officers and NCOs'' practice of healthy weight control behavior was higher in those who married, those whose military branch was general administration and those whose subjective health state, self-efficacy and social support were high. Accordingly, it is believed that air force officers and NCOs'' healthy weight rate can be raised effectively by developing and applying programs in consideration of air force officers and NCOs'' healthy weight control behavior and factors affecting the behavior as well as strategies for increasing air force officers and NCOs'' participation in such programs.
