저자는 Y대 부속병원에 내원한 환자의 정상치아와 병변이 유발된 치아, 치근 발육중인 치아 및 유치등에서 치수표본을 분리하여 ATPase의 생리적인 기능 및 작용기전을 살펴보고자 Ca**++ -ATPase와 Mg**++ -ATPase의 활성도를 분광광도계로 측정하여 비교분석함으

로써 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.

1. 치근 발육중인 치아에서 Ca**++ -ATPase와 Mg**++ -ATPase의 활성도가 현저히 증가하였다.

2. 치수가 생활력을 상실한 치아에서는 Ca**++ -ATPase와 Mg**++ -ATPase의 활성도가 현저히 감소하였다.

3. 치근 흡수가 시작된 유치에서는 Ca**++ -ATPase와 Mg**++ -ATPase의 활성도가 현저히 감소하였다.

4. 치아우식증과 Ca**+ -ATPase, Mg**++ -ATPase의 활성과는 무관한 것으로 보인다.

5. 치수의 ATPase는 Ca**++이나 Mg**++에 의해 단독으로 활성화되고 서로 연관작용은 없다.

[영문]

This study was undertaken to evaluate the physiological roles & mechanism of Ca**++ -ATPase Mg**++ -ATPase in human dental pulp. Bach specimen of dental pulp was obtained from the freshly extracted, freeze-dried 242 teeth. Ca**++ _ATPase & Mg**++ -ATPase activity were measured by the release of inorganic phosphate & protein with Spectrophotometer.

The results were as follows ;

1. The Ca**++ -ATPase & Mg**++ -ATPase activity were significantly increased in developing teeth.

2. The Ca**++ -ATPase & Mg**++ -ATPase activity were significantly decreased in nonvital teeth.

3. The Ca**++ -ATPase & Mg**++ -ATPase activity were significant decreased in deciduous teeth.

4. The Ca**++ -ATPase & Mg**++ -ATPase activity didn't have relation with dental caries.

5. The Ca**++ -ATPase & Mg**++ -ATPase were activated by either Ca**++ alone or Mg**++ alone.
