Abstract
[한글] 저자는 불소화합물이 Streptococcus mutans의 증식에 미치는 효과를 알기 위하여 여러 농도 즉 0, 75, 150, 300, 600 ppmF 농도의 NaF와 SnF^^2 에 Streptococcus mutans를 노출시켜 48시간 배양하면서 Streptococcus mutans의 증식을 관찰한 결과 다음과 같은 결론 을 얻었다. 1. NaF에 의한 Streptococcus mutans의 증식억제효과는 75ppmF농도에서는 거의 없었고, 150ppmF농도에서는 증식속도가 느려졌으며, 300과 600ppmF농도에서는 즉시 증식이 중단되었다. 2. SnF^^2 에 의한 증식억제효과는 75ppmF농도에서 증식속도가 느려졌으며, 150과 300ppmF농도에서는 초기에 살균작용이 보이다가 중단되었고, 600ppmF농도에서는 거의 완전한 살균작용이 나타났다. 3. 같은 농도에서의 Streptococcus mutans의 증식억제효과는 SnF^^2 가 NaF보다 크게 나타났다. 4. 600ppmF농도에서 pH에 따른 증식억제효과는 pH가 더 낮은 상태에서 더 크게 나타났다.
[영문] The purpose of this study was to compare the growth-inhibiting effect of sodium fluoride and stannous fluoride on a cariogenic strain of Streptococcus mutans exposed to the different concentration of SnF^^2 and NaF. The result were as follows: 1. The growth rate of the Streptococcus mutans was unaffected by 75ppmF, slowed by 150ppmF, and immediately arrested by 300 or 600ppmF shere increments of NaF were added to actively growing 12-hour broth culture. 2. SnF^^2 slowed the growth rate at 75ppmF, was to bactericidal initially at 150 and 300ppmF, and was to total bactercidal at 600ppmf. 3. SnF^^2 has been shown to be more effective than NaF in inhibiting the growth activity of Streptococcus mutans. 4. The inhibitory effect of fluoride compounds o the growth of Streptococcus mutans was increased in the decreased pH at concentration of 600ppmF.
