연세대학교 치과대학 부속병원 외래신환자의 실태조사 연구

저자는 임상 치과의학의 발전과 이상적인 치과진료를 수행함에 있어서 기초적인 지식과 치과병원 자체의 내원신환자 분석연구로서 보다나은 대중 구강보건 발전에 기여하고자 1973년 3월 2일부터 1975년 6월 30일까지의 연세대학교 치과대학 부속병원에 내원한 환자 9,969명을 조사연구하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.

1. 치과 외래신환자 중 여자는 남자보다 많았으며 20대가 가장 많은 비율이었고 그 다음은 10세이하였다.

2. 주소별 분석결과 소아치과 구강외과 보존과 치주과 보철과 구강진단과 위생과 교정과의 순위였다.

3. 지역별로 볼 때 환자의 내원은 인근지역과 관계가 깊었으며 서대문구, 마포구, 영등포구의 순위로 내원하고 그 다음은 지방을 포함한 기타이었다.

4. 원내생환자는 18.4%이었고, 본병원 의뢰환자는 3.0%이었고, 외국인환자는 1.4%이었다.

5. 1년중 신환이 가장 많은 달은 2월이었고 그 다음은 3월이었으며 1년중 환자가 가장 많은 계절은 겨울이었고, 그 다음은 봄이었다.

6. 치주병에 대한 인식은 어느정도 높아졌으며 아직까지도 환자들은 증상의 제거와 같은 한정적인 치과진료를 원하고 있음을 볼 수 있었다.

7. 임상 치과의학의 병원 단위에서의 발전은 환자들로 하여금 치과치료에 대한 인식성을 높여 치과에 대한 부정적 사고의 개선에 있다고 볼 수 있었으며, 질환보다는 진료가, 진료보다는 교육이 문제라고 볼 수 있었다.

The author analyzed a total of 9,969 out patients coming to this infirmary from March 1, 1973 until June 30, 1975 for the purpose of making Oral health education more effective and improving the management of the hospital system for better clinical dental science.

The results are follows:

1. The proportion of women was higher than men, patients in their twenties constituted the highest percentage, followed by teenagers.

2. Analysis of chief complaint showed pedodontic problems to be most frequent and the next, Surgical problems.

The least frequent were orthodontic problems.

3. The geographical distribution of outpatients reflected adjacent districts, patients coming especially from Seo Dai Mun, Mapo and Yeoung Deung Po.

4. Students' patients were 18.4 percent of all the outpatient. 3.0 percent were referral patients and 1.4 percent were foreigners.

5. The highest percentage of patients came in February and next, March.

6. General knowledge about periodontal disease had increased since previous years but patients still just want limited dental treatment such as removal of symptom.

7. The development of clinical dental science seems to depend upon correcting patients negative attitudes toward dental treatment, more important than treatment of disease is preventive care, and more important than prevent care is education.
