Objectives: To describe trends and attitudes concerning diagnosis and treatment of postmenopausal osteoprosis Methods: Self-administered postal questionnaire sent to Korean Menopausal Society members (gynecologists, family medicine practitioners and general practitioners). Results: Results showed 816 physicians (80.4%) offered measurement of bone mineral density to their menopausal patients. Most popular indication for the measurement of bone mineral density was routine check up (70.8%). Significant differences were found among physicians in different age groups and practice pattern regarding indication to measurement of BMD. Most physicians (45.7%) started prescribing pharmacologic treatment of osteoporosis to patients at and below -2.5 T score. Conclusion: Most Members of Korean Menopausal Society recommended measurement of BMD for menopausal women. d regarding indication of measurement of BMD, significant differences were found among physicians in different age groups and practice pattern.
