E: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of an animation distraction intervention on pain response of preschoolers during venipuncture. METHOD: The research employed a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design. The experimental group (n = 20) was provided with an animation distraction intervention using a laptop computer during their first venipuncture, and the control group (n = 20) received standard treatment. RESULTS: There were statistically significant differences in self-reported pain response, behavioral pain response, blood cortisol, and blood glucose between the experimental group and the control group. CONCLUSION: This intervention requires minimum effort and time and may be a cost-effective and convenient nursing intervention that could be used easily in clinical settings.-
