Retinal astrocytic tumors are benign glial tumors represented by two clinical types: retinal astrocytic hamartoma and “acquired” retinal astrocytoma. Retinal astrocytic hamartomas are frequently associated with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). “Acquired” retinal astrocytomas develop in somewhat older individuals who have no clinical manifestations of TSC or other systemic syndromes. © The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019, 2024.-
