Abstract
The study undertaken to compare relationship between the clinical parameters(the pocket depth,, plaque index, and gingival index) and fixed partial denture case, gold and PFM crowns were examined in 30 abutments of 22 patients.
The abutment teeth and the homologus teeth in the other half of the jaw were examined for pocket depth, plaque index, and gingival index. Crown margin location classified 4 categories.
Pocket depth : pocket depth measurements were made on all four axial surfaces of abutment teeth and the control teeth.
Plaque index, gingival index as well as pocket depth registrations were made on all surface of abutment teeth and the control teeth.
ANOVA test with Duncan's test and Peason Correlation analysis method were applied for the statistical analysis of the samples.
The results were as follows:
1. Regardless of location of margins, there were no significant difference in pocket depth, plaque index and gingival index.
2. Positive correlation was shown between pocket depth, plaque index and gingival index.
3. Decreased inclination of pocket depth, plaque index and gingival index were shown according to passing of time after fixed partial denture service.
