The dystonia is abnormal twisting movement or posture of body part. It can be classified by age of onset, distribution
and the etiology. The dystonia is frequenty found to be primary, but the clinicians should search for the secondary
etiology. The chorea is unpredictable rapid involuntary movement of body part. In many cases, secondary non-genetic
causes including vascular, drug, autoimmune, metabolic and toxic origin can be found in the patients with chorea. In
the last decade, the genetic studies discovered novel genetic loci and mutations in patients with dystonia or chorea. Now,
the genetic study in such patients is beneficial for the differential diagnosis of hereditary diseases.
