Abstract
As competition becomes intense and subjects of medical services move from medical institution-centered condition to patient-centered, patient experience is becoming an important factor to secure high competitiveness of medical institutions. Therefore, in order for providing high medical quality and patient-centered medical services it is important to consider everything patients experience and manage various patients’ experiences. This study was to research how characteristics of medical institutions affect the patient experience evaluation on results of ‘2017 the First Medical Service Patient Experience’ that Ministry of Health and Welfare and Health Insurance Review and Evaluation Center. Utilizing the data of 2017 the Medical Service Patient Experience that Ministry of Health and Welfare and Health Insurance Review and Evaluation Center revealed first, this study researched how domestic 87 medical institutions’ general characteristics, patient experience evaluation characteristics, and possibility of profitability among financial performance could influence the patient experience evaluation, and then it distinguished and analyzed effects of patient experience evaluation that is medical quality. This study used frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, univariate analysis (t-Test, ANOVA), and regression analysis with bootstrapping. This study has results as follows. In the general characteristics of research subjects, this study found that general characteristics such as the number of beds and nurse staffing grade, medical equipment (CT), location in metropolitan areas, school corporation, and profitability could influence nursing service experience positively. Also, this study found that general characteristics such as the number of beds and nurse staffing grade, medical equipment (CT), location in metropolitan areas, school corporation, and profitability could influence overall evaluation experience positively. Then, in the general characteristics of subject medical institutions, nurse staffing grade could influence positively hospital environment experience positively. this study found that factors such as the number of beds and nurse staffing grade, medical equipment (CT), location in metropolitan areas, school corporation, and profitability could influence general experience evaluation positively. In the general characteristics of subject medical institutions, this study found that nurse staffing grade could positively influence right security experience of patients positively. In the general characteristics of research subjects, this study found that nurse staffing grade and medical equipment (CT) could positively influence overall evaluation experience positively. Depending on above results, this study found that when the subject medical institutions have more beds and more medical equipment (CT), nurse staffing grade is higher, they are located in metropolitan areas, they are founded by a school corporation, and they are more profitable, they showed significant results to influence patient experience evaluation.
