This aims of this descriptive correlational study were to identify smoking behaviors, awareness, and factors that influence the use of “heat-not-burn (HNB)” tobacco products among college students in Korea, the most accessible age group in the new breed of tobacco users. in line with the recent change in the use of smoking-type HNB. The findings of this study are timely, given recent information regarding HNB use. The subjects of the study were undergraduate students aged 20–29 from four coed universities and one women’s university, randomly extracted from 28 of the four-year universities(23 four coed universities, 5 women’s universities) of in Seoul. 14 questions for general characteristics, 20 questions regarding HNB use behavior, 14 questions for recognizing HNB products, 10 questions for eHealth literacy and understanding, and seven items pertaining to exposure to HNB products and no-smoking advertisements. Data for the study were collected via an online questionnaire over approximately four weeks (March 8–31, 2019). Data were analyzed according to percentage frequency, mean and standard deviations, analysis of variance, the chi-squared test, and a logistic regression using SPSS 25.0. The results of this study are as follows: 1. Among the 524 subjects, 277 (52.9%) were lifelong smokers. Among them, 91 (32.9%) were HNB users who have experience using HNB tobacco products and 60 (21.7%) were current users. Of the total subjects, 281 were women, of which 116 (41.3%) were lifelong smokers. Among them, 34 were electronic cigarette users, accounting for 12.1% of all females and 29.3% of female smokers. 2. Regarding the general characteristics and smoking behaviors of the subjects studied, 57 (62.6%) HNB users and 104 (55.9%) non-HNB users had a greater representation of males (x² = 33.73, p< .001). Further, they were heavier in terms of weight (F = 7.99, p < .001), and the average BMI was higher (F = 4.08, p < .05) respectively). The HNB using experienced and the inexperienced person who experienced smoking were significantly higher than drinking rate than non-smokers (F = 11.87, p < .001). 3. The analysis identified cases of mothers smoking (χ2 = 8.95, p < .05), siblings smoking (x2 = 9.08, p = .006) and close friends smoking (χ2 = 21.10, p < .001). There were significant differences between HNB users, non HNB users, and non-smokers. 4. Among the subjects, 449 (85.7%) knew about HNB tobacco products and recognized that they would be less harmful than conventional tobacco products. We did not think that HNB tobacco was as restrictive as conventional tobacco, and we expected that the use of HNB products would increase in the future. 5. According to the results of the survey on the use of HNB among the 542 subjects, 3.42 times (95% CI: 1.10-10.67) for drinking alcohol with an average drinking capacity of 6 to 9 glasses compared to college students who did not drink. When siblings smokers were 2.57 times more likely (95% CI: 1.21-5.43), their smoking belief were higher were 1.07 times (95% CI: 1.00-1.13) to use HNB as compare to smokers who were non-HNB user. In the study described above, half of the university students expressed that they had smoked, and one in five had used HNB products. Three months after the launch of HNB tobacco, there was a significant change than that noted in the previous study. Female users of HNB products increased compared to female users of conventional tobacco and vapor products. Most participants were aware of HNB tobacco regardless of smoking experience, and they believed that HNB products would be less harmful than direct and indirect smoke from conventional tobacco. For those whose alcohol intake was six to nine cups per time (beer standard, 67 oz. to 100 oz), their tendency to smoke was high. Therefore, for active smoking prevention and smoking cessation of college.-
