Abstract

This study aimed to review the content and constructs of Korean Nursing history published in textbook, annals, and chronicles in nursing area. The reviewed literature were selected through online library search and were published by December 2000. A total of 22 books were reviewed. Among them, ten were in nursing history or introductory nursing textbooks, five were chronicles of nursing societies or associations, and seven were published by nursing schools, Almost of the authors were those who teach nursing history. Historical research based content were not found that has yet to achieve full credibility and acceptance within Korean nursing history. History transmits knowledge of the past, shapes our deeds in many ways, and links past and present with the future, Making all one. It is recommended that the production of Nursing Historiographer who writes history are essential for future Korean Nursing history.
