Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the importance of personality characteristics as a criterion for selecting medical college students, and to provide basic data necessary for the establishment of admission policies and design of curriculum for medical schools. This study is to examine differences in personality characteristics of medical students and applicants according to the entrance type of medical school. Participants were students who entered the department of medical science from premedical course of Yonsei University School of Medicine in 2014 and 2015, and applicants who have applied for Graduate School of Medicine or Bachelor's transfer of Yonsei University School of Medicine in 2014, 2015, and 2017. This study analyzed the results of the test of the Sellah Six Factor Personality Inventory. Finally, there was no significant difference in the combination factors of personality types between the entrance type of medical school. The implications of this study are presented in conclusions.
