사상사고 경험 철도기관사의 외상 후 스트레스 장애 증상에 관한 연구

Abstract

[한글]목적: 본 연구는 사상사고를 경험한 철도기관사의 개인 및 근무 환경적 특성에 따른 외상 후 스트레스 장애 (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD) 증상의 관련성을 파악하는 데 있다.방법: 현재 철도 업무에 종사하고 있는 기관사 800명에게 설문지를 발송하여 이중 638명이(79.8%) 응답하였다. 사상사고 경험 후 철도기관사의 심리학적 상태를 평가하기 위해 사건 영향 척도( Impact of Event Scale, IES) 질문지를 적용하였다.결과: 외상 후 스트레스 장애 증상 40점 이상, 하위척도인 침입 증상, 회피 증상은 점수가 20점 이상이어야만 증상의 발현정도라 말할 수 있지만, 철도기관사의 경우 개인적 특성에 따라서는 9.6-13.2, 4.2-6.1, 5.4-7.2, 근무 환경적 특성에 따라서는 11.44-12.70, 5.03-5.67, 6.41-7.04의 범위이었다.결론: 전반적으로 사상사고를 경험한 철도기관사는 경험하지 못한 철도기관사에 비해 육체적으로나 심리학적으로 불안한 증상 및 정서를 계속해서 겪고 있었다. 하지만 철도기관사의 연령을 제외하고 개인 및 근무 환경적 특성과 관련한 여러 지표들과 사상사고 후 외상 후 스트레스 장애 증상간의 통계학적 연관성은 입증되지 않았다.

[영문]Objective: The purpose of this study is to collect basic data on the prevalence pattern of Post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD) in railroad engine drivers exposed to person-under-train accidents according to the individual and working environmental characteristics.Methods: Questionnaires were sent to all the railroad drivers accompanying active service now by company post. Total 639 of the 800 questionnaires sent out were returned, showing a response rate of 79.9%. The impact of event scale(IES) was utilized to address psychological status of railroad drivers after exposure to person-under-train accident.Results: Score of PTSD intrusion and avoidance ranged from 9.6 to 13.2, from 4.2 to 6.1 and from 5.4 to 7.2 according to individual characteristics and ranged from 11.44 to 12.70, from 5.03 to 5.67 and from 6.41 to 7.04 according to working environmental characteristics, respectively.Conclusion: This study demonstrated that railroad engine drivers who experienced person-under-train accident expressed adverse symptoms physically and psychologically more than those who did not experience it. Apart from effect of train driver’s age, a wide range of individual and working environmental factors appear to have no association with the level of post-traumatic distress following a person-under-train accident.
