성인에서 생활습관과 아토피 피부염과의 관련성 연구

본 연구는 한국인 성인집단을 장기간 동안 추적하고 있는 전향적 코호트 연구대상을 이용하여 과거 생활습관이 향후 아토피 피부염에 미치는 영향을 밝히고자 하였다. 연구대상은 과거 공무원 및 사립학교 교직원 의료보험 공단에 시행되는 건강검진자료에서 1992년부터 1995년까지 참여한 대상중 무작위로 선택된 남자 650,883명이었다.

연구대상자의 흡연, 음주, 식습관, 카페인 음료, 운동 등 평소 생활습관이 아토피 피부염에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다.

본 연구의 결과, 과거 흡연, 알코올 섭취가 적은 경우, 채식을 좋아하지 않고 육식을 자주 섭취하는 경우, 카페인 음료를 많이 마시는 경우에 아토피 피부염 발생과 통계적으로 유의한 관련성을 보였다.

아토피 피부염 지속성과 관련있는 요인을 분석한 결과 비흡연자에 비해 과거 흡연자는 통계학적으로 유의하지는 않았지만 증가하는 경향을 보였고, 현재 흡연자는 아토피 피부염을 지속적으로 앓을 확률이 높았고 통계적으로 유의하였다 (p =0.0024 ).

위의 결과로 미루어 볼 때, 아토피 피부염 예방과 관리를 위해서는 건강한 생활습관을 갖는 것이 필요하다는 증거를 제시하였고, 앞으로 아토피 피부염 환자들을 대상으로 한 생활습관에 대한 교육과 관리가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

[영문]This study has been intended to prove the relationship between lifestyle and atopic dermatitis by prospective Cohort study which has been examining Korean adults group. Subjects were randomly selected 650,883 male adults who had taken periodic health examination of National Health Insurance Corporation (NHIC) between 1992 and 1995.

It has been studied how the lifestyle of subjects, for example, smoking, drinking, diet habit, caffeine intake and exercise had affected atopic dermatitis.

In this study, a risk of atopic dermatitis has statistically significant positive correlation with former smoking, less alcohol intake, preferring meats to vegetables and more caffeine intake.

Even though it is not statistically significant, former smokers have higher possibility of the atopic dermatitis persistency than non-smokers. In case of current smokers, they have 1~5 higher risk of possibility of persistency of atopic dermatitis, which is statistically significant (p =0.0024 ).

In conclusion, this study suggests that healthy life style is preferred to prevent and manage atopic dermatitis and furthermore, that the education for atopic dermatitis precaution is recommanded.
