중소병원의 수익성에 관련된 요인분석

이 연구는 재무지표중 하나인 의료수익순이익률을 이용하여 중소규모 병원의 수익성에

영향을 주는 요인을 규명하고자 하였다. 연구에 사용된 자료는 1991년 대한병원협회에 등

록된 병원중 300병상 미만인 병원 445개를 대상으로 구조화된 설문지틀 이용한 조사를 통

해 수집하였다. 응답한 조사대상 병원중 144개 병원이 응답하였으며 분석한 결과는 다음

과 같다.

1. 병원의 구조적 특성에서는 100병상당 전문의 수가 많을수록, 운영기간이 오래될수록

의료수익순이익률이 낮았고, 국공립 및 법인 병원이 개인병원보다 의료수익순이익률이

낮았다. 경영적 특성에서는 규정집과 지침서를 활용한 병원, 전산화가 안되어 있는 병원

이 의료수익순이익률이 낮았다. 환경적 특성에서는 경쟁병의원에 대해서 인식을 하는 병

원일수록, 중소도시에 있는 병원일수록 의료수익순이익률이 낮았다. 전략적 대안 도입 여

부에서는 전략을 수립한 병원일수록 의료수익순이익율이 낮았다.

2. 의료수익순이익률에 관련된 요인을 규명하고자 중회귀분석을 한 결과 설립주체, 경

쟁병의원 인식유무, 기존과에서 새로운 서비스 개발 유무가 유의하게 관련이 있었다.

이상의 결과를 종합하면 중소병원의 수익성은 병원내외적인 요인에 의해 영향을 받음을

알 수 있으나 잘 정리된 자료를 이용한 심층적인 연구가 필요하다고 생각된다.

Analysis of Factors Affecting Profitability of Small and Medium size hospitals

This study was attempted to identify the factors affecting profitability of small

and medium size hospitals. Net profit margin was used a a proxy indicators for

profitability of hospitals. Data were collected from 144 hospitals out of 445 small

and medium size hospitals in korea.

Major findings are as fellow.

1. Among the structural charateristics of hospital, specialist per 100 beds,

duration of hospital operation, and type of ownership were statistically

significant variables. Number of specialist, duration of hospital operation showed

negative relationship with profitability of hospital. Net profit margin of the

not-for-profit hospitals was lower than that of private hospitals. Among the

managerial variables. the hospitals which had iota specification manual had low net

profit margin. And hospital installed the computer system got mere profitability.

Net profit margin was low for hospitals in more competitive environment.

2. From the multiple regression analysis on the profitability, type of ownership,

number of competitive hospitals, and number of new services in the hospitals were

si후ificant variables for net profit margin.

Net profit margin of small and medium size hospital was affected by environmental

and structural characteristics of hospitals. Since these varibles should be

controlled to increase the profitability of hospitals. As in implication for the

further study, well organized data are needed for studying hospital financial ratio

analysis.
