성호르몬이 혈중 성장호르몬 분비에 미치는 영향

성장이 지연된 소아에 성호르몬을 투여하여 혈중 성장호르몬농도가 증가됨이 알려지면

서, 성호르몬-특히 testosterone- 이 성장호르몬의 분비를 증가시킨다고 생각되었다. Tes

tosterone은 시상하부 - 뇌하수체축에 작용하여 성장호르몬의 분비를 촉진시키고, estrad

iol은 혈중 농도에 따라서 성장호르은 분비에 영향을 미친다.

저자는 연세대학교 외과대학 세브란스병원 소아과에 내원한 성장장애환아 103례, 성선

기능저하증 17례와 성조숙증 4례에서 혈중 성호르몬농도와 성장호르몬농도를 측정하여 상

관관계를 조사하였다.

성호르몬농도는 남아에서는 testosterone, 여아에서 estradiol을 측정하였고, 성장호르

몬농도는 성장호르몬 자극검사후의 최고 성장호르몬농도와 수면 60분 후 성장호르몬농도

를 측정하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다.

1. 남아에서 testosterone농도가 0.2ng/ml 보다 큰 경우에 성장호르은 자극검사후 최고

성장호르몬농도와 상관관계가 있었다.

2. 여아에서 estradiol 농도와 최고 성장호르몬농도와는 상관관계가 없었다.

그러므로 본 연구에서는 testosterone은 혈중 성장호르몬 분비에 영향을 미치는 반면,

estradiol은 성장호르몬 분비와 상관관계가 없었다. 사춘기여아에서 estradiol이 성장호

르몬의 분비에 미치는 영향에 관해 더욱 많은 연구가 필요하리라 생각된다.

Effects of Sex Hormone on Secretion of Growth Hormone

Sex hormone had been thought to influence in the serum level of growth

hormone(GH) since 1944 year. After it became known that the exogenous

administration of sex hormone to growth-retarded children increase serum GH level,

sex hormone -especially testosterone- was thought to induce GH release.

Testosterone is thought to act on the hypothalamo-pituitary axis to stimulate GH

secretion and estradiol is also thought to have an effect on GH release, although

the exact mechanism is not known.

We compared serum sex hormone and GH levels of 103 growth retarded patients, 17

hypogonadic patients and 4 sexually precocious patients who were admitted to

Department of Pediatrics, Yonsei University College of Medicine. We measured

testosterone levels as sex hormone in males and estradiol in females. As serum GH

levels, we measured the peak GH levels during provocative tests and post-sleep 60

minutes GH levels.

The results were as follows :

1) In males, when testosterone levels were above 0.2ng/ml, there were good

correlation between serum testosterone and peak GH levels during provocative tests.

2) In females, there were no significant correlation between serum estradiol and

GH levels. In this study, testosterone influenced the release of GH but estradiol

did not have an effect on GH release.
