Abstract

To acquire more useful for the improvement of Industrial Health Servicies, the

konwlidge - attitude study was carried out by questionnaire on 264 workers in

Incheon area from November, 1989 to March, 1990.

The result of this study were as follows;

1. Almost half of workers (44.7%) responded that their health status as poor.

When they were sick, 50.0% of workers utilize drug store as first contact care

facility, 65.4% of the workers indicated that unsuitable working environments and

overtime work were infiuential to their.

2. Most of workers(92.8%) have ever heard of occupational disease and 89.4% of

thought that incidence of occupational disease in our coutry might be higher than

that in foreign countries in our country might be higher than that in foreign

countries.

3. The knowledge of respondents on occupational health showed considerable

difference depending upon duration of work in their company. Generally, the

respondents with long duration of work tend to be higher in knowledge score than

those with short duration of work.

4. Most of the workers(82.6%) thought that improvement of working condition and

creation better working environment would be most efficient way for protecting the

workers' health.

5. Degree of laber union activity, duration of work, participation for labor
