Author reviewed 53 cases of intraalveolar root fracture of 34 atients through dental roentgenogram in six anterior teeth. In reviewing these cases, the etiology, sexual and age distribution, location of fractures, and management of intraalveolar root fracture were investigated.
The following results were obtained;
1. The most frequent etiology of intraalveolar root fracture were blow injury (47%).
2. Male to female ratio was as 5.8 : 1.
3. Peak age incidence was in the age group of 21 to 30. (32%).
4. The most frequent site of intraalveolar root fracture were middle third area. (43%).
5. Maxillary central incisor showed the highest occurrence of root fracture. (57%).
6. Management of intraalveolar root fracture was tooth extraction (81%), splinting (17%), and endodontic treatment (2%) in older.
