dc.description.abstract[한글] [영문] In 1929, Master and Oppenheimer introduced two-step exercisetest which has been useful method for discovering latent coronary artery disease. In recent days, coronary angiography in accordance with hemodynamic study has disclosed more definite morphologic status of coronary artery whether it has stenosis or collateral circulation. As such procedures are rather difficult and expensive, it is usually accepted that the post-exercise electrocardiogram is most widely used tools in the detection of latent coronary artery disease. Also Master et al. reported double two-step exercise test showed higher positive rates than the single two-step exercise test. In our series, both the single and the double two-step exercise tests have been applied to 168 persons. The following results were obtained. 1) In normal group(56 cases), both doubtful and positive electrocardiographic findings after performing single two-step exercise test were 3.6% and the incidence of positive electrocardiographic responses after double two-step exercise test was 12.5% 2) The frequency of positive responses after single two-step exercise and dounle two-step exercise were 16.6% and 23.8% respectively in patients with angina(42 cases), 5.1% and 25.6% in hypertensive patients(39 cases) and 12.9% and 35.5% in diabetic patients(31 cases). 3) Generally in this abnormal group, positive rates after single two-step exercise test was 11.6% and 27.7% after double two-step exercise test.-
