치솔 및 치약 함유 성분이 치태 및 치은 염증에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구

저자는 치솔모의 강도와 치약내 함유성분이 치태와 치은 염증에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 42명의 전신적으로 건강하고 부정교합이 없는 치과대학 학생을 무작위로 선발한 다음, 6군으로 나누어 이들에게 치솔모의 강도가 다른 3종류의 치솔과, 마모제가 다량 함유된 치약, 그리고 Allantoin, Guaiazulene, Urea가 함유된 치약을 사용하게 하고, 실험전 및 실험시작 1, 2, 3, 4, 5주후 치태지수와 치은 염증지수를 측정하였다.

이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.

1. 치솔모가 부드러운 치솔을 사용한 실험군의 경우 마모제를 함유한 치약이나 약제를 함유한 치약이나 모두에서, 치태지수와 치은염증 지수가 감소하였으며 이는 P < 0.05수준에서 통계학적으로 유의성이 있었다.

2. 치솔모의 강도가 중간 정도인 치솔을 사용한 실험군의 경우, 치태지수가 감소 하였으며, 이는 P < 0.05 수준에서 통계학적으로 유의성이 있었다.

3. 치솔모의 강도가 중간정도인 치솔을 사용한 실험군에서 치은 염증 지수의 변화는 통계학적으로 유의성이 없었다.

4. 치솔모가 강한 치솔을 사용한 실험군에서 치태지수의 변화는 유의성이 없었다.

5. 치솔모의 강도가 중간 정도인 치솔과 강한 치솔을 사용한 군에서, 마모제를 다량 함유한 치약을 사용한 경우 보다 약제를 함유한 치약을 사용한 경우, 치은 염증 지수가 더 많은 감소를 보였다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate if the stiffness of toothbrush bristle and the contents of dentifrice affect the efficacy of plaque removal and gingival inflammation reduction. 42 volunteers were selected for this study from the dental students. 42 students was divided into 6 groups, and plaque index and sulcus bleeding index of their upper and lower teeth were recorded for base-line records. Three type of toothbrushes which had different degree of bristle stiffness and two types of dentifrices, one containing only abrasives and the other

containing anti-inflam-matory agent, were selected. One type of the toothbrushes and dentifrices couple was given to each group. After 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, weeks experimental periods, the plaque index and the sulcus bleeding index were recorded.

The results of this study were obtained as followed.:

1. There was statistically significant (p < 0.05) reduction of the plaque index and the sulcus bleeding index in the groups of soft bristle toothbrush.

2. There was statistically significant (p < 0.05) reduction of only plaque index in the groups of medium bristle toothbrush.

3. There was no significant difference of the sulcus bleeding index in the groups of medium bristle toothbrush who used dentifrices containing either only abasives or anti-inflammatory agent.

4. The groups of hard bristle toothbrush showed no significant change in the plaque index.

5. There was common reduction of the sulcus bleeding used the dentifrice containing anti-in-flammatory agent.
