Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the results of use of allobone in calcaneal lengthening for flatfoot deformity in pathologic condition.
Materials and Methods: 118 feet in 78 children with flatfoot deformity were included for the study. The mean age at the time of the operation was 9+3 years (range, 3~20 years) and mean follow up was 15.4 months. Talo-1st metatarsal angle, Talo-horizontal angle, Calcaneal pitch were measured before operation and postoperative and bone union was estimated.
Results: There were no postoperative complications, such as deep infection, nonunion, delayed union, graft loss during the follow-up period. Bone union was noted in all cases. All of radiographical indices were improved postoperatively in all cases.
Conclusions: Allobone graft in calcaneal lengthening is thought to be useful for children whose enough autobone can not be obtained.
