재태기에 발견된 선천성 신경아세포종 1례

Abstract

Neuroblastoma is one of the most common tumors of childhood. It accounts for about 8% of all pediatric cancers. Because most children who present with this tumor are older than 1 year of age and have advanced disease, they have a poor prognosis in spite of intensive treatment. The patients with less than 1 year of age at the time of diagnosis a have favorable prognosis, even though they have distant metastasis to liver, skin and/or bone marrow with stage I or II. For the improvement in survival of patient with neuroblastoma, early detection of subclinical tumor is very important. However, it is very rare for neuroblastoma to be detected during intrauterine period and confirmed pathologically after birth as shown in this case. We experienced a case of 2 month-old-male baby who was suspected of neuroblastoma by antenatal sonographic examination at IUP 38 weeks, which was confirmed by postoperative pathological findings. The tumor was excised completely. The patient was closely observed for one and a half years and there were no evidence of recurrence. We report this case and review related literatures briefiy.
