Revision tympanoplasty was performed in 81 ears using homologous temporalis fascia which was obtained from another patient during tympanoplasty and was fixed and preserved in 70% ethyl alcohol in the refrigerator at 4℃ at Inchon Christian Hospital from Jan. 1990 to Jul. 1993. The success rate of tympanic membrane graft was 85.1% in the first revision surgery(69/81 cases) and 93.8% with the second revision surgery(76/81 cases). Seventeen of 33 cases(15.5%) that underwent postoperative audiogram, cases showed hearing improvement. This study suggested that the homologous temporalis fascia can be a useful graft material in revision surgery.
