측두골 골절에 의한 안면마비환자에서 신경감압술치료의 결과

Abstract

The surgical outcomes of the facial nerve decompression were analyzed retrospectively in 24 cases with facial palsy caused by temporal bone fracture. Sixteen cases (66.6%) showed House-Brackmann (HB) grad Ⅰ, Ⅱ after operation. Six (85.7%) of 7 cases operated within 1 month from the onset, and 14 (73.6%) of 19 cases operated within 3 months from the onset improved within HB grade Ⅰ, Ⅱ postoperatively. There cases with traumatic neuroma on the lesion site showed HB grade Ⅲ, Ⅳ after operation. The recovery of the facial palsy caused by temporal bone fracture does not seem to be promising when the decompression was performed after three months from the onset.
