Patients with bilateral vocal fold paralysis have a glottic obstruction which usually cases dyspnea and inspiratory stridor on breathing and speaking. Numerous treatment modalities have been developed for the proper management of this condition to reduce the degree of obstruction. However, many of them are technically rather difficult and require the need for tracheotomy. Excluding few exceptions, the effects of those procedures on respiration and phonation are poorly analyzed. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the effect of simple laterofixation of paralyzed vocal fold in bilateral vocal fold paralysis with pulmonary function test. And the surgical technique is briefly reviewed.-
