This scenario was designed to teach the diagnosis and treatment of the hemorrhagic shock following a leg amputation. Losing large amounts of blood can lower both blood pressure and body’s oxygen supply. Inadequate supply of oxygen to the body can cause symptoms of a shock. The goal of management of the hemorrhagic shock is to locate and stop the source of bleeding. Replacing blood and body fluid, adequate pain control, and prevention of hypothermia are critical to the treatment of severe hemorrhagic shock.-
