dc.description.abstractThe aim of our study was to find out the degree of performance anxiety felt by music college students major in string instruments and its correlation with musical performance. Forty-one students major in string instruments filled out Beck`s anxiety inventory just before evaluation of musical performance at mid-and final-term exam. Surveys done twice showed that number of students who felt minimal, mild, moderate, and severe anxiety were 18(43.9%), 10(24.4%), 7(17.1%), 6(14.6%). There was no correlation between anxiety level and music performance score at mid-term exam when no students felt severe anxiety. However, students who had severe anxiety at final-term exam scored significantly lower than those who did not(p < 0.05). This study showed that practicing teachers should comprehend anxiety level felt by students major at music and tried to manage it.-
