dc.description.abstract[한글] [영문] INTRODUCTION The absorption of nutrients in parasite infected intestine have been tested experimentally by several workers; Symons and Fairbairn (1963) with nippostrongylus brasiliensis in rats. Gilbert et al. (1965) with trichinella spiralis in guinea pigs. Their results showed that the rate of intestinal absorption of radioactive carbohydrate was markedly decreased. The radioactive isotopes have been applied for the study of intestinal absorption test. Ka-plan (1958) used l**131 triolein and oleic acid in case of pancreatic or intestinal disease and found that fat absorption was markedly decreased. Dodds and Webster (1924) found that excretion of fat through feces was increased when the abdomen and pancreas were irradiated and it was confirmed by Wallace (1941), Mead et al. (1951) Conard(1956) and Sullivan71959). It has been known that fat absorption is closely related to the condition of intestine, liver and pancreas. However, there has been no study how the parasites which inhabit in the digestive system disturb the fat absorption. The present investigation was designed to study the influence of parasites which infest in the digestive system. MATERIAL AND METHOD Parasites and animal : Clonorchis sinensis Metacercariae were collected from infected fist by routine digestion and centrifugation mothod. Five hundred or 1000 of them were introduced into the stomach of each of 20 rata. Hymenolepis nana The eggs were collected from the feces of infected rata and washed by centrifugation. One hundred and fifty or 900 eggs were introduced into the stomach of 30 rats. The rats were used the same age as in the experiment with clonorchis Toxocara canis The eggs were obtained from the distal portion of uterus of parasite and incubated at 27℃ for 3 weeks. A hundred of infective stage eggs were given to each of six dogs orally. They were monrel speciesl weighing 10∼12kg. Radioactive isotopes: Two ml (2mc) of l**131-triolein was diluted with 195 ml of sesame oil by way of Waring blonder for 2 hours. One ml of it was given to each of the dogs orally through the stomach tube. The animal was premedicated with Lugol's solution before the administiation of l**131-triolein. RESULTS Clonorchis sinensis Infected group : In the control group, 8.45±0.47% of given l**131-triolein was excreted on the 1st dayand the excretion amounted to 10.2% at the end of 8 days. In the infected group, the total amounts of excreted l**131-triolein, 15.11% in 1000 metacercaria group and 14.72% in 500 metacercaria group respectively during the same period. The absorption rate of fat was diminished 4,10% and 4.49% compared with the control group respectively. Hymenolepis nana infected group : The excretion rate of l**131-triolein was 10.44 ± 0. 48% 150 eggs group and 11.36 ± 0.6% 900 eggs group on the 1st day after the administration. The total excretion were 14.47% and 15.57% in the infected group respectively and 17.62% in control group during the 8 day observation. This means that the absorption rate of fat was diminished about 4-5% compared with the control group. Toxocara cantos Infected group : The excretion rate of I**131-triolein was 3.82±0.15% in infected group whereas it was 2.05±0.05% in the control group on the 1st day after administration. The total amounts of excreted were about 4.71% in infected group and 3.02% in the control group. It means that the absorption rate of fat was diminished 3.69% compared with the control group. SUMMARY The influence of clonorchis sinensis, hymenolepis nana and toxocara cams infection on the fat absorption in the host intestine were studied. l**131-triolein was given to the animal infected with those parasites, and the excretion of it in the feces were counted and the following results were obtained. 1. In the clonorchis sinensis infected group, the excretion rate of triolein increased to 4.10-4.49% compared with the control group. 2. In the hymenclepis nana infected group, the excretion of triolein was increased 7-5% compared with control group. 3. In the toxocara cams infected group, the excretion was about twice that of the control group. It is concluded that parasite infection in :digestive system diminishes fat absorption in gastrointestinal tract of the host.-
