인터넷기반의 원격교육시스템 운영 평가 : 보건대학원 교과목을 중심으로

보건학 관련분야에 종사하면서 전문적인 지식을 필요로 하여 대학원에 진학한 사람에게 충분한 학습을 위하여 인터넷을 이용한 원격교육시스템을 도입하였다. '시스템 분석 및 데이터베이스' 와 '환자-대조군 연구' 교과목 수강자를 대상으로 원격교육시스템을 운영

하고, 이에 대한 평가로써 원격교육시스템을 통한 수업의 만족도를 조사하였다. 원격교육시스템은 인터넷을 사용할 수 있는 Netscape 3.0 Server가 탑재되어 있고, 학습내용을 저장하는 데이터베이스시스템은 Oracle 7.3을 이용하였다. 수업을 위한 교재 개발은 과목 담당 교수가 교수설계 모델(Instructional System Design, ISD)에 기초하여 정규학습에서 숙달할 수 없는 교과내용을 중심으로 개발하였다. 학습자는 원격교육시스템을 통해 학습하고 이에 관한 레포트를 제출하여 교수의 채점을 받을 수 있는 형태로 운영하였다. 또한 설문조사를 통하여 인터넷을 이용한 학습형태에 대한 만족도 및 학습만족도에 관련된 요인을 알 수 있었다.

본 원격교육시스템으로 학습한 대상자 21명을 설문 조사하여 평가한 결과 인터넷을 이용한 학습형태에 66.7%가 '만족한다'고 응답하였으며, 대상자의 76.2%가 '다른 과목에도 이 시스템을 추천하겠다'고 하였다. 또한 학습 만족도와 관련이 있는 것에는 '학습에 도움이 되는 사이트를 제공하였다' 라는 문항에 78.6%, '인터넷을 이용한 학습은 집중이 잘되었다'라고 75%, '인터넷으로 제시된 학습자료와 수업내용과는 연결이 잘 되었다'라고 75%의 만족도를 보였다. 그리고 '인터넷 학습화면의 글자와 구성요소가 적절하다'라는 문항에 83.3%, '인터넷 학습내용의 양과 속도가 적절하였다'는 문항에는 80%의 인터넷 학습에 대한 만족도를 보였다.

본 연구의 결과를 통하여 인터넷을 이용한 원격교육시스템 운영에 필요한 요소를 제시 할수 있었고, 전문인들의 외적환경을 고려한 원격교육시스템 도입과 운영에 모형이 될 수 있도록 하였다.

An internet-based distance learning system was developed for two

courses system analysis/database and case-control study, to

supplement a regular in-class lecture as an experimental basis.

This study was conducted to evaluate its effectiveness in terms of satisfaction level. The system was developed using Netscape 3.0 and Oracle 7.3 database.

The professors who were in charge of courses designed the curriculum and prepared the contents in such a way to be suitable

to the distance learning. They also conducted the classes

accordingly.

According to the survey conducted from 21 graduate school students, 66.7% of them were satisfied with the system and 76.2% of them stated that they would recommend this system to other subjects.

Specifically, 78.6% of them were satisfied because it provided

sites where they could get assistance on their study, 75% of them

satisfied because they could concentrate better on their work, and 75% of them satisfied because the information on the internet was directly related with their class contents, 83.3% of them were satisfied because of appropriateness of fonts and organization factors of the sites that have information, and 80% were satisfied because of the adequate quantity of information and speed.

These factors identified from the survey can be used in the future development of distance learning courses.
