dc.description.abstract | We have analyzed the radiological chemical risks of uranium in groundwater. The median concentration of uranium was 0.18ppb in ten areas in Korea. The excess cancer risks were at the 10^7 level in radiological risk aspect and the hazard quotient was 0.01 in chemical risk aspect. Therefore, an adverse health risk is unlikely to be posed due to exposure to uranium. However, the concentration of uranium must be monitored periodically and adequate action taken in the few small areas containing high uranium level in groundwater. | - |
